FAQ

CAN I VOLUNTEER OR ACT AT SCARED HAUNT?
We welcome those who would like to volunteer to help make props, act in the haunt or any other way you would like to help out. If you're under 18, we do require that at least one of your parents meet with Max or Spencer so that we can answer any questions they have regarding the haunt. They will also need to sign a permission form for you to volunteer with us. You can call or email us at 801-895-5483 or max@scaredhaunt.com

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Currently we are a home haunt at 412 West Princeton Dr. (8375 South) in Midvale, Utah. We are currently looking for a building so we can expand, so if you know anyone who has an available building in this area, please let us know.

WHEN DOES SCARED HAUNT OPEN?
Coming Soon
The haunt is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in October (9-11, 16-18, 23-25 and 30-31) from 7:30p.m. - 11:00p.m. If you have little ones who are too scared to go through the haunt normally, we do a "lights on" show starting at 7:00p.m. One of our actors will take the kids through and they'll be able to see what it's like with the lights on and no actors to scare them. If they want, they'll also be able to see the actors getting their makeup put on so they can see that it's all fake.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET IN?
The price of admission is a donation of unopened, non-parishible, food to the local food pantry or animal shelter or a cash donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?
We are in the process of getting it setup so that we can take credit cards and hopefully that'll be ready by the time we open.

HOW IS SCARED HAUNT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER HAUNTS?

  • We allow our actors to make many of the props they use in their rooms and they have a lot of control how their rooms are decorated and setup, which makes their rooms more fun for them to act in and the room fits their personality.
  • We like to have lots of "eye candy" for our visitors and so we have built many of our rooms using wood from old pioneer buildings, there are old oil lamps, wagons (one of them even came across the plains with the pioneers), actual scientific equipment, etc. Where we can, we use actual stuff instead of buying fake stuff that's been made to look old or real.
  • Scared Haunt is a true non-profit haunt that gives back to the community. We collect donations for the local food pantry, animal shelter and Shriners Hospital for Children. We make no money off this haunt and do it because we love Halloween and love to scare people and help the community.
  • One thing we focus on with our volunteers is to help the youth in our community so they have a safe and friendly place to be and aren't out causing trouble. We have had many parents bring us their kids because they didn't like the groups they were hanging around with and wanted to give them a better environment to be in. We also work with the kids to help them improve their grades in school. We would rather see them improve in school due to their involvement with Scared Haunt, instead of it causing them to do worse in school.

IS IT TOO SCARY FOR LITTLE KIDS?
We have seen very young kids go through and totally love it and others who are constantly clinging to their parent. It all depends on the kid. If they think they're tough enough to go through and they find out they're not, let one of the actors know and they'll gladly escort you and your child out. We also have a special surprise for those little ones who have a hard time going through, just ask and we'll get it for them. If you have little ones who are too scared to go through the haunt normally, we do a "lights on" show starting at 7:00p.m. One of our actors will take the kids through and they'll be able to see what it's like with the lights on and no actors to scare them. WHAT IF I'M TOO SCARED TO GO THROUGH WITH MY KIDS?
For those parents who are too chicken to go through, feel free to sit around the fire and visit with us. We also have a surprise for you too...just ask Max or Spencer.

IS SCARED HAUNT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
We have worked very hard to make the haunt accessible for those in wheelchairs or other special needs. The crawl tunnel is the only area that's not wheelchair accessible and our actors will gladly take you through a hidden door so you can bypass that area and not miss anything else. Also, if you aren't able to crawl on your hands and knees, we'll help you bypass the crawl tunnel too.
